Corporate Social Responsibility of Shariah-Based Islamic Banks in Bangladesh: An Exploratory Study

Abstract: This paper attempts to explore the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities and performance of Shariah-Based Islamic Banks in Bangladesh. Both qualitative and quantitative techniques were applied to collect and interpret data for the study. The study findings show that the authorities of Shariah–Based Islamic Banks in Bangladesh are more interested to spend the CRS fund in education and arts, literature & cultural program and less interested in humanitarian & disaster relief, health, sports, and environment management programs. So, the researchers have given some suggestions to the management of Shariah–Based Islamic Banks in Bangladesh to increase the CSR fund in the field of humanitarian & disaster relief, health, sports, and environment management programs in the future.
